My Goodness Where Does The Time Go???

My goodness where has the time gone?  I've been wanting to post on my blog for sometime now but it seems like I always have a stack of things to stitch so I do that instead.  I do have a bunch of finishes so I guess I am using my time wisely....LoL. Here are some of them.

We also have been spending time with family.  Father's Day weekend was very busy.  My folks came down so we could all go to Cumberland MD to ride the Western Maryland train.  Silas and Grandpa were both in their element.  We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cumberland and right outside our hotel window was CSX's four tracks...so trains were coming and going through the night.
The ride on the old steamer was wonderful and the meal and service was outstanding.  My favorite part and I think Silas too.... was seeing them turn the train around.

In other big news Silas has a new bed...his first big bed.  Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Jo brought down his train bed and helped us put it together.  He absolutely loves it and I have to send a big thank you out to Auntie Barb for finding it on Craigs list.

Yet another big thing that weekend for Silas was that my family got him a bounce house for his birthday. It was something they wanted to order at our Walmart down here in Maryland...and then pick it up for us because there was no way I could get it in my little car back in April.

I've also been working on two boxes of swap goodies.  I have sent out my packages already so I should have some new lovely swap goodies to share with you soon.
Well my friends I'm so sorry it's been so long but all of you have been in my thoughts.  I hope you're all having a lovely summer!!!
Hugs,
Theresa

P.s...I'm writing this while I'm waiting for Silas to get out of gymnastics class...LOL...nothing like squeezing in a blog post but it had to happen at some point other wise you'd think I had died...LOL!!!

Hello Dear Friends I know I've been MIA

Hello my dear friends I know I've been missing in action as of late.  It seems like so many things have been taking up my time.  First was a late April trip up to upstate NY to see my family.  We did so many things that I actually needed a vacation after we got home LOL.   Anyway Silas and I made our journey up north leaving Hubby home to keep the home fires burning.
One of the things us girls did was go to the annual Flax Barn Sale....as always I find and buy way to much but their linen clothes are my favorite and I've been doing these sales since the early 90's.  This year it was at the Triphammer Mall.  My partners in crime were my mother who's waving in the photo and my older sister Joann.  This was the line at 8:30 in the morning... doors didn't open until 9 am.  There were a lot of people behind us too.

It's always crazy inside...LOL... let the clothes buying begin.  I must say everyone is nice about it...no pushing or yelling....just a lot of digging in the clothes boxes for the correct size and linen dust flying.

After the Flax sale my Sis treated me to my very first pedicure.  I know hard to believe...but true...I've never had anyone play with my feet before.  After they where done though my feet felt like fluffy clouds and yes we're going to go again the next time I'm up...LOL. :0)

The next day we celebrated my birthday... yeah I'm getting old.  I turned the big 40 this year and I have the grey/white hair to prove it...LOL. :0)

My younger sister Barb brought her stepdaughter Sariaha and boy does Silas just love this little girl.  He tries to kiss her and hug her every chance he gets.  I guess we could call this his first crush (sorry Robin and Misi). :0)

I just love this photo...so darn cute!!!

See I told you he tries to kiss her.  It's funny because right after this photo was taken...she was like YUCK a boy kissed me....LOL.

One of the other reasons for our trip north was to see this little lady.  This is my niece Rosalie and man has she gotten so big.  She is just over two months old and already she is 13 pounds and she managed to roll herself over while I was there.

Here is one of my favorite photos...starting from the left...me, Rosalie, Silas, my younger sister Barb (Rosalie's Mom), and my older sister Joann.  I only wished we had gotten photos with Grandma and Grandpa too but sometimes the think tank doesn't work very well.

One of the days I  was up we got to go visit Maureen of "Sweet Meadows Farm" http://sweetmeadowsfarm.blogspot.com/.  Lucky for us she is just on the other side of Binghamton NY... where some of our family lives.   I know Maureen's shop wasn't officially open but I found enough to buy.  I can't wait to see what the shop looks like when It's officially open.  If  you've never been to her sweet shop you must go.  We have already made plans to visit again this summer. :0)

My Dad is a big train buff  (well so is Silas...he gets that from Grandpa) so not to far away from Maureen's shop was this big train bridge she told us about..... we had to investigate of course.
If you can't read the sign it says it was built in 1847-48 by the Erie Rail Road it is 1200 ft long, 110 ft high, and 30 ft wide on top.  The stone work is amazing...I keep trying to picture them working on it way back then.  We tried to find the top but had no luck...maybe next time when it isn't raining so much.
Here's my Dad and my sister Joann standing in front of the bridge to give you an idea just how big it is.  Grandma stayed in the car with Silas since it was raining.

I'm sure you all know that my hands have not been idle the whole time I've been MIA..... the above is a stitch I stitched for my dear friend Misi.  It of course is a Stacy Nash pattern.  It took me a few months to complete it but I think it turned out nice.
This sweet stitch was one of my Prim Sister's kits and finally I've had time to stitch it.  This sweetie is for me.  I just love the colors Wendy from Pineberry Lane picked for this kit.  I did change it just a little.... there was suppose to be a lady where I placed the spool of thread.  :0)

I just finished this stitch last week.  It is a Notforgotten Farm pattern and I just love it. I wish I was keeping it....oh well I'll just make another for myself at a later date.
This is Annie and Clarabelle.... I made these witches for Wendy's Spring doll challenge.  If  you didn't hear about the challenge she was hosting please go check it out  http://ravenwoodwhimzies.blogspot.com/.  I'd like to thank Wendy for hosting this lovely challenge and for giving us her doll pattern to create what ever we wanted with it. :0)

Well my friends I have finished other little things but I figured I'd show you the big ones at least....other wise you'd be looking at a lot of photos.  Also this post is long enough...LOL.
I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy my friends...as for me I'm still fighting my cold I got in NY...it was something else that came home with me and now the boys both have it too. Anyway I will try not to be gone so long next time but sometimes life has away of keeping me busy.
Hugs,
Theresa

A Lovely Swap with Misi from 1890 Gable House

Greetings my dear friends....I know it's been awhile since my last post.  Life has been busy here at Dulaney Woods.  My husbands family was here for a week plus we celebrated Silas 3rd birthday.  Then after the company left Silas got ear infection.... so we've all been missing some sleep here.  I can safely say my work table is stacked with things to get to....but then again when is it not...LOL. :0)
Last month I asked Misi from 1890 Gable House if she'd make my best gal Holly one of her beautiful boxes for her birthday (which was March 13th).  Since Misi loves my stitches we decided to do a swap... which is always fun to do.  Misi always....and I mean always blows my mind with her talent.  I told her I was flabbergasted by what she sent this time...actually every time we swap I have the same reaction...LOL. :0)  Anyway... I want to show you gals all the goodies she sent...and I want to say a BIG THANK YOU TO MISI!!!!
Just look at those boxes and all those other treasures.

Doesn't your heart skip a beat.....

Owl Memorial Box....now most of you know I love owls so when I saw this sweetie I knew it had a home with me....no way was Holly getting it....LOL. :0)

It was very hard for me to part with this beautiful Mirror box...but I knew that it was going to a home where it would be cherished and loved.  This was the box I gave Holly for her birthday.  I wish I had taken my camera with me because she was in love with it as soon as she saw it.  Plus she loved the mirror and saying that Misi enclosed inside.

Spring A New- Is what Misi called this box. I absolutely adore it and it's perfect for my studio with all it's Halloween treasures.  When Holly saw photos of it she wanted this one too...LOL. :0)   Can you see the little bird basket ornament Misi made.... isn't it sweet. I love the birds nest with the beautiful waxed eggs....such a treasure.  I have been collecting nests for a few years now....they're still in the garage... one day I'll find the perfect way of displaying them all.

Seance Box... perfect for any Halloween lover...LOL...and right up my alley. This is the inside of the blue/black/cream floral box and what was inside when I opened it.  I'm smitten with the box with the little shoe.

Some yummy chocolates along with this wonderful fabric box Misi made.  The velveteen rabbit she sent was made by Michi Ball....all I can say is he's one of my new favorite Easter decorations.
Some of these goodies have found their new spots in the house already but some of them sit on our table still... mostly because I've been so tired and busy.  I must say it's nice that they're on our table though because I've been able to pick each lovely item up and admire it every day since I received them.

A quick little pic of the dining room buffet (just a small part of it)...that is always changing with the seasons. Again I want to say a big thank you to Misi for not only my new treasures but for making my best friends birthday a special one too.

Here is just a sampling of what I sent Misi....keepsake box...

A patch work noble women's pouch with Misi initials on it.
Wall pocket with ABC and 1890 stitched on it......I love making these...I can't seem to stop.  I would love to make myself one...LOL...maybe some day soon. :0)  I also sent her a sweet black angel, Osnaburg rabbits, a stitched linen pouch, and some stitched bowl fillers (not pictured).

Last I wanted to share the newest picture of my sweet niece Rosalie...isn't she sweet and growing fast.  She is now three weeks four days old.  I can't wait to hold her. :0)
Well my sweet friends that is all for now... I hope to be adding some things to my Etsy shop soon.  I've been trying hard to get new things done...it's been way to long since I last put something in my shop.  I also hope to finish my last "PIF" for my sweet friend Wendy....everyone else should be getting theirs soon.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are all happy and healthy.
Hugs,
Theresa

Two Wonderful Pin Keep Swaps

Greetings my sweet friends I have two lovely swaps to share with you today.  My first pin keep swap was with Wendy from Ravenwoods Whimzies.  Wendy was also our host for the swap as well so I want to say..... THANK YOU for hosting Wendy!!!!  As you can see she spoiled me rotten as always. :0)  I love the sweet bird pin keep she made.... it fits right in with my spring collection.
As you can see he's sitting pretty in my blue bunny crock and the chicks are not to far away. As for the Robin Egg malt balls there is a few left...LOL.  I have a really bad addiction to them. I put them in a bowl on the kitchen counter so I find myself getting into them often..LOL.

I decided the tin blue chick needs to hang out in the house until warmer weather. Then he will go outside in one of my planters out front. I think he looks great sitting under my Orchid and on the lovely blue hand towel Wendy sent.   I told her already that I'm not going to use it as a hand towel...it's to beautiful for that.  Thank you Wendy for the very thoughtful and generous treasures...I love them all!!!
If you haven't checked out Wendy's blog or her Etsy shop please go to the link above... you'll be able to see what I made her too. :0)
****************************************************************************
My second swap was with a really sweet gal named Heather from The Country Schoolmarm.  This was Heather's first swap and she did a fantastic job!!!  Each thing she sent is a new treasure near and dear to my heart. I'm sure most of you feel that way when you get a box of swap goodies.  It aways warms my heart to see things made with love and care.

Here is a close-up of my new treasures...

I placed Heather's pin keeps next to my dolls in the sitting room...I think they look lovely there. You can't see it but on the other side of my dolls is another pin keep I made.  As a stitcher I love collecting pin keeps...and there is no such thing as to many....LOL.  :0)

I placed the bird and clothes line pin keep in the same room...but with my prim pillow and critters.  I think they look sweet together. :0)  If you've never been to Heather's blog before please click the link above and go for a visit.  I'm sure she'd be happy to hear from you and you'll be able to see what I sent her as well.  Thank you Heather for the wonderful swap...I'm so glad you've joined the primitive swapping community. :0)
The last thing I wanted to show all of you is my new antique stoneware ink jars.  I only had the two lighter ones on the right (actually one is a impostor...LOL)....all the others I found this last Friday while antiquing with Holly and Silas.  I couldn't believe my luck... not only were the prices good but there were many to choose from.  I think maybe someone was selling off their collection.  Anyway they have a new home with me.  This wasn't the only thing I found either... bone buttons, some old photos, pin keep box (tin),  and a small metal train for Silas' room (it's for decoration only...it's to old for him to play with).  Holly also found a nice crock and a cute childrens book.  We really had a great time and Silas was sooooooo good!!!!  We always have fun in Lancaster PA. :0)

Okay...my sweet friends I should go.  I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy. :0)
Hugs,
Theresa

Rosalie Finally Arrives!!!

Finally our sweet Rosalie arrives!!!  We all had dates picked out as of when she'd arrive.... but no she wasn't having any of it...her due date February 22nd came and went.   We all picked dates like Feb 16th, 17th, 19th, 21st, & 22nd....only to be disappointed...LOL. Then February 28th my sister Barb went into labor and at 10:45 am little Rosalie was born.   It was a easy birth and this sweet angel of
7 pounds 13 oz. and 21cm long was brought into the world.

I just love this photo....there is nothing like little baby feet.

Momma and Rosalie....such a sweet photo.

Grandma couldn't be happier...now she has two grand kids to love up.

Finally a family at last. :0)

As most of you know it's a six hour drive for me north...so I haven't seen Rosalie in person yet.  I'm hoping I'll be able to get up that way this spring.  I guess I'll just have to be happy that Aunt Jo Ann and Grandma have sent me plenty of photos. Anyway I couldn't be happier to be a Aunt....it should be fun because I can spoil her....LOL. :0)
