A Lovely Swap with Misi from 1890 Gable House

Greetings my dear friends....I know it's been awhile since my last post.  Life has been busy here at Dulaney Woods.  My husbands family was here for a week plus we celebrated Silas 3rd birthday.  Then after the company left Silas got ear infection.... so we've all been missing some sleep here.  I can safely say my work table is stacked with things to get to....but then again when is it not...LOL. :0)
Last month I asked Misi from 1890 Gable House if she'd make my best gal Holly one of her beautiful boxes for her birthday (which was March 13th).  Since Misi loves my stitches we decided to do a swap... which is always fun to do.  Misi always....and I mean always blows my mind with her talent.  I told her I was flabbergasted by what she sent this time...actually every time we swap I have the same reaction...LOL. :0)  Anyway... I want to show you gals all the goodies she sent...and I want to say a BIG THANK YOU TO MISI!!!!
Just look at those boxes and all those other treasures.

Doesn't your heart skip a beat.....

Owl Memorial Box....now most of you know I love owls so when I saw this sweetie I knew it had a home with me....no way was Holly getting it....LOL. :0)

It was very hard for me to part with this beautiful Mirror box...but I knew that it was going to a home where it would be cherished and loved.  This was the box I gave Holly for her birthday.  I wish I had taken my camera with me because she was in love with it as soon as she saw it.  Plus she loved the mirror and saying that Misi enclosed inside.

Spring A New- Is what Misi called this box. I absolutely adore it and it's perfect for my studio with all it's Halloween treasures.  When Holly saw photos of it she wanted this one too...LOL. :0)   Can you see the little bird basket ornament Misi made.... isn't it sweet. I love the birds nest with the beautiful waxed eggs....such a treasure.  I have been collecting nests for a few years now....they're still in the garage... one day I'll find the perfect way of displaying them all.

Seance Box... perfect for any Halloween lover...LOL...and right up my alley. This is the inside of the blue/black/cream floral box and what was inside when I opened it.  I'm smitten with the box with the little shoe.

Some yummy chocolates along with this wonderful fabric box Misi made.  The velveteen rabbit she sent was made by Michi Ball....all I can say is he's one of my new favorite Easter decorations.
Some of these goodies have found their new spots in the house already but some of them sit on our table still... mostly because I've been so tired and busy.  I must say it's nice that they're on our table though because I've been able to pick each lovely item up and admire it every day since I received them.

A quick little pic of the dining room buffet (just a small part of it)...that is always changing with the seasons. Again I want to say a big thank you to Misi for not only my new treasures but for making my best friends birthday a special one too.

Here is just a sampling of what I sent Misi....keepsake box...

A patch work noble women's pouch with Misi initials on it.
Wall pocket with ABC and 1890 stitched on it......I love making these...I can't seem to stop.  I would love to make myself one...LOL...maybe some day soon. :0)  I also sent her a sweet black angel, Osnaburg rabbits, a stitched linen pouch, and some stitched bowl fillers (not pictured).

Last I wanted to share the newest picture of my sweet niece Rosalie...isn't she sweet and growing fast.  She is now three weeks four days old.  I can't wait to hold her. :0)
Well my sweet friends that is all for now... I hope to be adding some things to my Etsy shop soon.  I've been trying hard to get new things done...it's been way to long since I last put something in my shop.  I also hope to finish my last "PIF" for my sweet friend Wendy....everyone else should be getting theirs soon.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are all happy and healthy.
Hugs,
Theresa

Two Wonderful Pin Keep Swaps

Greetings my sweet friends I have two lovely swaps to share with you today.  My first pin keep swap was with Wendy from Ravenwoods Whimzies.  Wendy was also our host for the swap as well so I want to say..... THANK YOU for hosting Wendy!!!!  As you can see she spoiled me rotten as always. :0)  I love the sweet bird pin keep she made.... it fits right in with my spring collection.
As you can see he's sitting pretty in my blue bunny crock and the chicks are not to far away. As for the Robin Egg malt balls there is a few left...LOL.  I have a really bad addiction to them. I put them in a bowl on the kitchen counter so I find myself getting into them often..LOL.

I decided the tin blue chick needs to hang out in the house until warmer weather. Then he will go outside in one of my planters out front. I think he looks great sitting under my Orchid and on the lovely blue hand towel Wendy sent.   I told her already that I'm not going to use it as a hand towel...it's to beautiful for that.  Thank you Wendy for the very thoughtful and generous treasures...I love them all!!!
If you haven't checked out Wendy's blog or her Etsy shop please go to the link above... you'll be able to see what I made her too. :0)
****************************************************************************
My second swap was with a really sweet gal named Heather from The Country Schoolmarm.  This was Heather's first swap and she did a fantastic job!!!  Each thing she sent is a new treasure near and dear to my heart. I'm sure most of you feel that way when you get a box of swap goodies.  It aways warms my heart to see things made with love and care.

Here is a close-up of my new treasures...

I placed Heather's pin keeps next to my dolls in the sitting room...I think they look lovely there. You can't see it but on the other side of my dolls is another pin keep I made.  As a stitcher I love collecting pin keeps...and there is no such thing as to many....LOL.  :0)

I placed the bird and clothes line pin keep in the same room...but with my prim pillow and critters.  I think they look sweet together. :0)  If you've never been to Heather's blog before please click the link above and go for a visit.  I'm sure she'd be happy to hear from you and you'll be able to see what I sent her as well.  Thank you Heather for the wonderful swap...I'm so glad you've joined the primitive swapping community. :0)
The last thing I wanted to show all of you is my new antique stoneware ink jars.  I only had the two lighter ones on the right (actually one is a impostor...LOL)....all the others I found this last Friday while antiquing with Holly and Silas.  I couldn't believe my luck... not only were the prices good but there were many to choose from.  I think maybe someone was selling off their collection.  Anyway they have a new home with me.  This wasn't the only thing I found either... bone buttons, some old photos, pin keep box (tin),  and a small metal train for Silas' room (it's for decoration only...it's to old for him to play with).  Holly also found a nice crock and a cute childrens book.  We really had a great time and Silas was sooooooo good!!!!  We always have fun in Lancaster PA. :0)

Okay...my sweet friends I should go.  I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy. :0)

Rosalie Finally Arrives!!!

Finally our sweet Rosalie arrives!!!  We all had dates picked out as of when she'd arrive.... but no she wasn't having any of it...her due date February 22nd came and went.   We all picked dates like Feb 16th, 17th, 19th, 21st, & 22nd....only to be disappointed...LOL. Then February 28th my sister Barb went into labor and at 10:45 am little Rosalie was born.   It was a easy birth and this sweet angel of
7 pounds 13 oz. and 21cm long was brought into the world.

I just love this photo....there is nothing like little baby feet.

Momma and Rosalie....such a sweet photo.

Grandma couldn't be happier...now she has two grand kids to love up.

Finally a family at last. :0)

As most of you know it's a six hour drive for me north...so I haven't seen Rosalie in person yet.  I'm hoping I'll be able to get up that way this spring.  I guess I'll just have to be happy that Aunt Jo Ann and Grandma have sent me plenty of photos. Anyway I couldn't be happier to be a Aunt....it should be fun because I can spoil her....LOL. :0)

My Amazing Swap With Carol from Buttermilk Creek Farm

I've been wanting to show you all my lovely swap goodies that Carol from Buttermilk Creek Farm sent me.  It was like celebrating Christmas all over again. Each items as wonderful as the last and each made with love and attention.  I thought I had died and gone to prim heaven..LOL. :0)
I wanted to do more besides show you just a group shot of these new treasures. As some of you know I just don't have the heart to put some of my holiday treasures in boxes for next year....so here is my basket of winter loves.  Can you see Carol's sweet snowman in back.  He looks perfect with his new family of snowfolk and Santas.

I know what you're thinking....WHAT a Christmas tree.... still!  Well yes...and no....LOL!!!  This tree has a little black bear in it at Christmas time I decorate his tree with Christmas ornaments.  Then after Christmas...just snowmen for winter. In the warmer month the tree sits empty. Getting Carol's cute as a button Santas, snowman, and kitty in a stocking ornaments made it to tempting...I had to put them on the tree. :0)  In all fairness we still haven't celebrated Christmas with Brian's family so I may just keep it up until they come in early March.

I know so many of you are already in high gear for Spring and even I am beginning to feel the need to spring clean and downsize (like that will ever happen...LOL).   Carol's sweet bunny got me in the mood to change out my dining room buffet.  It always changes with the seasons.  I just love the mouse and sheep she sent me too.  I think they fit right in with my other spring goodies perfectly.

Here is a close-up photo....I wish my camera did them justice...because they are so incredibly sweet.

Here is a close-up of  the little bunny she gave me too.  I know... adorable right. :0)

A while back I started a whisk broom collection and Carol was sweet enough to remember that so she sent me two of them.  I now need to find room for the over flow.  I'm sure that wont be a problem...as I love this black shelf and I've been wanting to find something similar to put in our family room. :0)

Last is this adorable little mouse on a pumpkin.  He looks right to home in my studio...which is all Halloween...all year round.  See I told you I don't have the heart to put these treasures away... until their appropriate holiday comes around.
I want to thank Carol for sending me such a wonderful box of creations.  I can't believe she spoiled me so much...sometimes I feel like I didn't do enough in return.  I know all the time and effort that goes in to making such treasure... and it warms my heart to know that they were given to me by such a sweet friend.  If you haven't been to Carol's blog please go visit her....http://buttermilkcreekfarm.blogspot.com/.
Her creations are divine and the attention to detail is amazing...treat yourself you wont be sorry. :0)

Giveaway Winner Is!!!!!

The winner of my one year blog giveaway is.....drum roll please....
Lori from Apple Grove Treasures!!!!! Congratulations Lori!!!  I'll be contacting you soon Lori for your mailing info.  I want to thank all of you for entering in my giveaway.  I'm sorry I didn't e-mail each one of you back.  I've been sick with a very nasty head cold....but I am feeling much better. I hope to be catching up on all the things I haven't been doing....like the mountain of laundry and dirty dishes stacked in the sink.  When mommy is sick nothing gets done around the house...LOL.  Plus I'm behind on many things I promised others I'd get done...so I'm hoping I can hurry up and catch up.

Thanks again everyone for your well wishes....it means so much that you're all here with me in blog land.  I wish I could hug you all for the wonderful year of comments and support...you're all amazing!!!!

Hugs,
Theresa

One Year Blog Anniversary Giveaway

Hello my sweet friends.... I know you've all been waiting for my giveaway.  In celebration of my one year anniversary (in blog land) and for having over a hundred followers I  made these sweet bunnies to giveaway to one lucky winner.  I used a Chestnut Junction pattern to make them.  Last year I bought a set of bunnies just like these from Vivian from Blue Moon Beginnings for my best friend Holly.  I was smitten with them and knew that one day I would own the pattern so I could make myself a set.  Well I still don't have a set made for myself...LOL...but at least they'll bring happiness to someone and that's what makes me happy. :0)  Now I will be adding a few surprises to the giveaway box....but I'm not going to say what they are.  One... I don't know as of yet what I will add but I like there to be a bit of a surprise for the winner.  The rules are very simple....become a follower if your not already, leave a comment, and for an extra chance post this giveaway on your blog sidebar.  Please let me know which you have done when you leave a comment.  The giveaway will only be for the US and Canada....shipping costs are to high internationally.  The contest will end February 17th.

I hope this post finds you all doing well....also before I go I do have four spaces for my "Pay It forward"...please read my earlier post (1-10-13) if you think you'd like to join in the fun.  If not.... I will fulfil my end of the pay it forward by sending something out to random people. Well it might not be to random...I might just send out something to those I feel need a smile or something uplifting.

Thank you all for a wonderful year of blogging!!!
Hugs,
Theresa
