All decked out for Christmas

I'd say it's beginning to look like Christmas here at Dulaney Woods but the truth is we've already had one Christmas celebration here over Thanksgiving with my family.  As you can see our big tree was loaded with presents (in the sitting room).  My family always goes a little crazy at this time of year...LOL. ;0)
Here is our family room tree....it's our new twig tree.  I actually got it after Christmas last year so I got a great deal other wise we wouldn't have it.
Our dining room is all decked out as it always is with our feather tree...it has my grandmother's glass ornaments on it.
A close-up of some lovely snowfolk.

These sweet boxes came today from Hanway Mill House....I ordered them at the wonderful York PA Folk Art show right before Thanksgiving. I love Barb's boxes she does such a beautiful job she has a Etsy shop too.
The sofa in our sitting room with it's sweet Christmas pillows.
My basket of snowfolk (from many different artists) and my big sweet teddy holding a gingerbread boy. I just love having all these treasures out.

Here's the door way into our kitchen.
Here is a close-up of the sign on the door handle to the left.  This was the secret Santa gift I received from my Folk Art and Primitives sister Pat of "The Sunflower Cupboard".:0)
I also took a picture of our entry way because I have some lovely Christmas things in there but I feel it needs some work...not sure what I will do but it looks a bit naked... maybe a new primitive shelf above the window... here is what it looks like now.
It just looks naked....I'm sure I'll figure it out.  Hoping to hit a primitive store this week so I'm sure I'll find something that works.  Any suggestions...it's not a big space...pretty much what you see is it.  Anyway it's a work in progress. :0)
Hope this post finds you all getting into the spirit of Christmas.  I also hope you are all happy and healthy too.
Hugs,
Theresa

My Lovely Christmas Swap With Wendy From Ravenwood Whimzies

Hello my sweet blog friends I have a fantastic swap to share with you all.  Wendy from Ravenwood Whimzies and I decided after being partnered up for the last two Christmas swaps that we had a nice tradition going, so this year we decided to keep that tradition alive and swap this year on our own.  We had such a great time again this year that we've already decided that we will swap again next Christmas as well. :0) I'm sure you have all guessed by now that I LOVE Wendy's creations.  She has such a great eye for detail and the heart of gold to go with it.   In the above photo to the left you will find the sweetest black Santa she made me.  He's perfect in every way right down to the little tree he's holding.
Now the Santa blew my mind and I was so doing the happy dance...but wait there was more... yes more... this beautiful majestic creature....our first Christmas goose.  He is perfect for our Christmas table and he looks so lovely sitting in my dough bowl.  I can't think of a better center piece then this. LOVE!!!!

Here is our sitting room sofa and you can see my black dolly is holding a new pillow from Wendy "Merry Christmas"...what a great addition to my Christmas pillows.  You can see the Santa one she made me last year to the left.
This is our family room all decked out for this Christmas season.  What's under the tree well three lovely boxes that Wendy made me. :0)
Here is a close-up shot of the beautiful boxes... I love the pictures Wendy picked out and the colors.  I am a collector of boxes...great for storage and hiding things. They look lovely next to our fireplace and under our tree. :0)
Now this ornament warms my heart and just tickles me with joy....what a sweet gift Wendy has given our little one. Silas just loves hanging ornaments on the tree....even if they are on backwards (mommy fixes them when he's not looking).  We always set the mood for decorating the tree.... Christmas music, cookies, milk and a big box of handmade ornaments.  I think he likes that as much as getting gifts.  I also think it makes him feel big and part of something that is magical too. :0)
Now not everyone knows this but I like owls...now I don't have a house full of them but they do have a special place in my heart.  I just think of the wise old owl in the pooh bear stories... the one that gives good advice and listens to you.  Who couldn't use a wise old owl in their lives....I know I could.

Last but not least is this wonderful smelling candle.  I have a thing for candles too....LOL. :0)
I have to send out a Big THANK YOU to Wendy for being willing to swap again with me this year.  Each item you sent is a special treasure that I will hold near and dear to my heart.  I know the love and the attention you put into each item.  You have such a giving heart my friend and I am so blessed to have you in my life.  THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! I am already thinking about what I want to make you for next year. ;0) Hugs

Well my sweet friends thank you for stopping by for a visit and for sharing in my joy. I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy.  Hugs, Theresa

Olde Lady Morgan's 2013 Christmas Ornament Swap

I am soooo slow these days....believe me I haven't forgotten about all you lovely ladies that have made our Christmas tree so very special to me and my family this year (and for many years to come).  My family came down on Monday and spent Thanksgiving with us...they have been here all week so I have been entertaining.  We also celebrated Christmas so it's been a bit crazy around here at Dulaney Woods. :0) Anyway let me show you all these fabulous ornaments I received from OLM 2013 ornament swap.

This sweet black Santa is so darn cute from Granny Trace http://www.grannytracescrapsandsquares.com/.  This is my first treasure from her and I'm so glad to add this sweetie to our tree this year.  Thank you Trace!!!
This lovely primitives Santa is from Vicky Huckaby

Oh...how I love this ginger he is as yummy as can be.  I just swapped with Janet  http://oldecrowprimitives-janet.blogspot.com/ not to long ago and her work is divine.  I can't believe I was lucky enough to get this sweet ornament from her too.  Thank you Janet!!!
The last but not least is this adorable black Santa from my sweet and good friend Wendy http://ravenwoodwhimzies.blogspot.com/.  I can't tell you how much I love Wendy's creations... they warm my heart.   Thank you Wendy!!!!

Well my friends that is all for now...but come back soon I have a fantastic swap to share with you all.  Right before my family came I got this spectacular box of Christmas goodies from Wendy and I'm itching to share it with you.  If I get my butt in gear hopefully with in the next few days....LOL. ;0)
I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy.

Ornie Swap over at Bumble Bee Lane

Well ladies things have been crazy here...mostly with orders and Christmas gift making.  I have been up late every night and up early with my little rooster (that would be Silas...he's a morning person).  I'm really starting to feel the lack of sleep. :0(  Anyway I wanted to share all the lovely ornaments I got last week from the ornie swap Amy from Bumble Bee Lane held.   I just love doing these ornie swaps and I think it just makes our Christmas tree even more special.

This sweet mixed media old time looking ornament is from my sweet friend Wendy @ Ravenwood Whimzies.  Thank you Wendy...I love it!!!!
The snowman is from another wonderful lady I've been lucky enough to swap with in the past Sandi Allen from The Primitive Skate.  Thank you Sandi your snowman is fantastic!!!
The felted Santa in a frame is by yet another lady I've had the pleasure of swapping with...Kendra from The Stone House Primitives.  Thank you Kendra he is very sweet!!!
The last ornie the... sweet gingerbread face is from Danice Gentle Homespun Hannah's Blog.  I have not swapped with you before Danice so it is lovely to have one of your treasures among my collection...Thank you!!!

Just wanted to share some of my Halloween treasures

It's hard to believe that Halloween is this week.  I feel so behind...LOL!   I finally got around to getting some of my Halloween goodies out of my studio and into the main part of the house.  Some of these treasures are new but others I've had for some time.

These two sweeties are some of my favorites (who am I kidding they're all my favorites)...the owl was created by Cathy Pendleton from "The Cheswick Co".  The beautiful black cat with his rusty colored mouse is a Lori Ann Corelis -"The Spotted Hare " piece.  I feel so lucky to have these and yes they sit out all year round....no way am I boxing these babies up.

The dining room buffet is packed this year with so many lovely goodies from so many wonderful artists.... Carol Stuck, Marie Morgan, Kimberly Bouffard, Lottie Laychak, Stacy Nash, Sandy Melerski, Nicol Sayre, Becky Carney, and Sue from Pinch Me Boutique.
Some more treasures in the dining room.
Our dining room table this Halloween season.
This picture was taken in my studio....see the wedding couple in the back ground.... the groom on the left and the bride on the right.  These are reproduction pieces from Dee Foust but I've had them since Brian and I got married.  They were decorations we used at our wedding reception. They hold a very special place in my heart.  Another treasure in this photo is new and  has already stolen my spooky heart... Miss Maude (on the right) by Pam Garcia.
Just look at this face...oh.... how she makes me smile and my heart giggles with the spell she has cast on me.   I must tell you that my dear great aunt was named Maude.  I absolutely loved her...often I would ride my bicycle over to her apartment to have cookies and to watch T.V. with her.  To a ten year old girl my great aunt was an amazing lady with the sweetest disposition.
Here is another group of treasures in my studio.
I also have to share my Halloween treats from my sweet friend Holly.  Every year we exchange Halloween gifts and this year she really out did herself.
Silas and I also found a visitor in our yard a few nights ago.   I must have taken dozens of photos of this fella.  I just couldn't help myself.  I mean he was orange and black after all.  I did tell Silas to leave him alone though...because I didn't know what kind of spider he was.  Come to find out he was a "Marbled Orb Weaver"  They are harmless and like to be left alone....he must have loved me...LOL!!! I'm sure he was thinking....LADY ENOUGH WITH THE FLASH ALL READY!!!!
Well my friends I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my Halloween treasures and our new neighbor.  It's fun to share things with you all.  I hope you all have a very happy and safe Halloween.
Hugs,
Theresa

A Swap With Misi From 1890 Gable House & Other News

I am so late writing this post and I have to apologize to my sweet gal pal Misi for that...it seems like life has been crazy busy as of late and I'm just along for the ride.  I'll fill you in more about the busy part later in the post but for now you must see my new lovely treasures that Misi sent me.
I have found spots in our lovely home for these new gifts....the witch shadow box that Misi made now sits on our mantle ....front and center for all to see. I don't even have words to explain how much I love this piece...be still my heart.  Misi also included the most  amazing pumpkin doll from  Jennifer Tavoletti (sitting left  of the shadow box).
You should have seen my face when I unwrapped this lovely too...I had tears in my eyes that was for sure.  Misi is so very generous and so very talented....to own these just sends my mind a twirl.
I know...I know...the first three pieces where more then enough but...oh...no she had to spoil me even more.  In fact as I write this now I'm stuffing my mouth with Moose Munch...LOL.  I tried to stay out of it because I'm sure most of you know once you start eating it, it's soooooooooo hard to stop eating it...LOL!!!! :0)  The hand soap smells wonderful....the hand towel is so cute I wont use it as a towel though (maybe make it into a pillow). The Halloween pasta is going to be our Halloween meal....Silas is going to love finding the spiders in it.  :0)
Misi also sent this sweet little pumpkin gal from Kaf Grimm of Grimitives.... isn't she the sweetest little thing you every saw!!!! Pumpkin love!!!
Yes,  There is more....look at this sweet piece Misi made....I know.... down right spoiled rotten I am.  THANK YOU MISI!!!!  You really know how to spoil a Halloween Fall lovin gal like me.  All these treasures are held close to my heart....THANK YOU!!!! If you'd like to see what I made Misi please go to her blog and check out her Sept 18th post.  http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/

What else have I been up too... well we made a quick over night trip to Lori's  "Gathering of  Primitives show" in Amherst VA.  It was worth the 10 hour round trip.....sure it was raining but who cares when there are so many amazing primitives around.  I was a kid in a candy store.   Plus my hubby was such a good trooper who helped drive and watch Silas as he ran around on the farm.  Here are some photos that I took.
Silas checking out Tina's (The Burlap Owl Primitives) table.  One of her sweet dolls came home me.

Here is Susan and Dorrie's (Olde Threads) tent...if you look real hard you can see them in there...LOL.

More of their goodies...some of their lovely creations came home with me too.

This was Teresa Miller's tent... I was lucky enough to see Teresa at the Lititz PA show so I didn't buy much from her.  Plus I got to see her again in Lititz PA for the Porch Walk (Which I brought home something from Teresa both times...LOL).

This is Becky Carney's table...it was so nice to meet her since she had been in my Etsy favorites for a long time.  Now I own one of her Fall themed Santas.

Here are my boys...they had a good time seeing Lori and Pete's donkeys, chickens, sheep, cat, and dogs.   Silas also liked playing in the mud...but I was prepared...extra socks, pants, and shoes in the car....LOL. :0)
Here is just a small sampling of what  came home.  I think it will be hard not to go next year....LOL!!!
**********************************************************************************
As some of you know I also had my first show in years at "The Spirit of Friends" show in Lucas Ohio at Malabar farm.  I did okay my first time out and plan on sharing a table again with my good friend Jackie.  It was fun to meet some Facebook friends and new fans.... so many nice comments and well wishes.  It really warmed my heart and gave me encouragement.  Here are some photos of our table.

Are you tired of reading yet?  Well I have a few more things to share with you all.   Every year Lori from Notforgotten Farm has a Halloween challenge.  Last year I did a purse but this year I did something different with her challenge piece.  I sure hope you like it.

Lori will have a voting poll up soon so everyone can vote for the piece they like best.  Please go vote...even if you don't vote for mine....support those that entered in the challenge. :0) http://farmhousenotforgotten.blogspot.com/

Okay.... I think I'm getting to the end....LOL!!!  My sister FAAP group on Etsy will be opening a selling page tomorrow on facebook for those of you who'd like to buy and see some very talented ladies.  We are a fun creative group and I hope you will come join in...there will be a great giveaway too.  Yes, I did make something for the giveaway...but you need to go to facebook and find out what it is. ;0)  Here is our blog if you'd like to check us out...http://folkartandprimitives.blogspot.com/ .

I have also been honored with being added to the Primitive Handmades Mercantile group....what a group of talented ladies those are.  I sure hope I can make them proud of having me with them.   The selling site is update every third Friday of every month... here is a link http://primitivehandmadesmercantile.com/.

Also I'd like you all to keep my mother in your thoughts and prayers....she goes in for major surgery tomorrow and will spend 2-4 hours in surgery.   I am hoping all goes well and I wish I could be with her.  I know my Father and Sister will keep a close eye on her and her doctor is top in his field so she's in good hands.  Thank you my friends and I hope I didn't bore the heck out of you all.
I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy.
Hugs,
Theresa
