The Versatile Blogger Award & A Few Other Things

Imagine my surprise when Wendy at Ravenwood Whimzies http://ravenwoodwhimzies.blogspot.com/ gave me the versatile blogger award....it's my first. :0) Any way I'm suppose to share seven facts with you about myself. Oh.....where to start...I'm such a odd duck...LOL. Okay so here goes....please... oh please...don't let me scare you away...LOL. :0)
1. I'm a mother of a 23 month old...and I never thought I'd be so happy and so scared. Each day is a surprise....you just never know what he's going to come up with.
2. Now I know this is going to seem strange to you all but I love watching Korean historical dramas... off Drama Fever. Yes, I can read subtitles and stitch...never thought I could do that. I find Korean history/culture so very interesting.
3. Okay here is another strange fact about myself... I love Gothic/industrial/metal.... yeah I'm a rocking stitcher. Now in all fairness I love all music.... I'll listen to just about everything except rap music.
4. I want to live in Scotland. My family is Scottish/Irish... so when we went to Scotland on our honeymoon several years back I felt like I had arrived home. I've never felt that way about any place I've ever visited before (the above photos are ones I took on our trip....Edinburgh City & The Three Sisters).
5. I don't only collect primitives and antiques.... I also collect Halloween goodies and artist bears.
This sweetie fits both categories.... this is Francis Feline and Rusty the mouse he's a creation by Lori Ann Corelis "The spotted Hare".
6. My mother taught me how to cross-stitch when I was a teenager...then in my early 20's my good friend Anne taught me how to quilt. I've been doing both ever since...though I've had a break from both now and again.
7. I suffer from IBS.... yeah...it's one of those things that no one really knows what's going on with your angry gut. Let me tell you I wish they had an answer because having dizzy spells and feeling sick just sucks. You pretty much have to cut any kind of flavor out and eat bland food. Well I love spicy and I love COFFEE!!!! I guess one has to decide...feeling like junk or drinking her coffee....there are days where I just want the coffee....oh well.
So there you are...my seven insightful things about me the odd duck... LOL. :0)
Now here are a few finishes. These two kitties are birthday gifts...one will go to our little one on his birthday next month and the other to another sweet boy. This was a pattern out of the new Prims issue. It was a sweet primitive cat pattern I'm sure I'll make a few of these for us adults....this had to be kid safe.
Last of all is my love pinkeep & heart. It was part of my Stacy Nash kit club... I try my hardest to keep up with the kits along with doing other things. Well that is all for now my friends...it seems like a long post. I hope you enjoyed your visit...come back soon. :0)
Hugs,
Theresa
I almost forgot to award my Versatile Blogger awards.... let's see nine.... only nine...okay. :0)

Bunny Hop Swap

Last month I signed up to do the Bunny Hop Swap through "Ravenwood Whimzies" http://ravenwoodwhimzies.blogspot.com/ and got Rene from "Sew Many Raggedies" http://sewmanyraggedies.blogspot.com/ as my swap partner. I had so much fun swapping with her!!! The photo above is what she sent me. I adore my sweet little bunny doll (and she smells lovely too) and the bowl fillers are wonderful. Plus what girl doesn't like receiving chocolate in her package too. Thank you Rene for the lovely swap. I hope we'll swap again sometime. :0)
Here is a photo of the bunny I sent Rene...I also included a few Easter applesauce ornaments and a small Easter pillow I cross stitched (not pictured).
Also I wanted to share a photo of Holly's dressed bunny and of Silas' monster I finished for their birthdays next month.
On another note I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's day....ours was a quiet one but hubby did bring me home chocolate and a Orchid. I sure hope I don't kill my Orchid...it's my first and I have to admit I've stayed away from buying one because I know they are touchy. If any of you have advice on how to keep it alive.... I'm all ears. :0) I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy.
Hugs,Theresa

Share what you love

Sometimes it's nice to share what you love. I love all things that are handmade...and I find myself buying more and more from artists when it comes to birthdays, Christmas, and other special events. I haven't stepped into our local mall in years... why when everything is mass produced. I am always looking for new handmade items to love and treasure. Maybe it's because I'm a crafter as well...I have my mother to thank for that...she always made us kids stuff. Thanks MOM!!!

Anyway I must share my newest find. I'm sure many of you know Kimberly from "The Red Cupboard" (see the link to her blog on the left)...but I didn't until late last year. You will find her creations wonderfully primitive with that well hugged/loved look. Each doll has a face that melts your heart too...it's hard not to want everything in her Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Theredcupboard?ref=seller_info). It only took the purchase of one snow doll to be smitten with her work. I must say I'm one of her biggest fans...LOL. I can now say I'm the proud owner of several of her pieces too. I'm sure more of her creations will find a home with us here at Dulaney Woods. Maybe it will be one of her hooked rugs next...who knows. :0)

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and I hope we will see you again soon. Stay happy and healthy my friends.

Hugs,

Theresa

There are bunnies running around the house

I know it's been a week since I last posted so I hope you'll enjoy my new finishes. I finally finished the pin keep I was working on for Holly's birthday and I also have this sweet bunny hopping around the house for her too. I'm sorry he's still naked but his clothes are in the process of drying as I write this. I love the way he turned out and I hope she likes his spots. I think the walnut stain worked wonderfully on the synthetic fur. I was going to use coffee but found that it clumped the fur together....were the walnut stain didn't.
I still have a list of things to do....I'm hoping to finish a bunny needle punch for Holly. I'm sure you can tell that she is a big bunny fan...so this birthday is going to be all about the bunnies LOL. I also have a stuffed monster in the process for our little one who will be two next month. I'm sure I'm like most crafter's I have a bunch of UFO's and hope to get a few of those finished up. I have a habit of starting several projects at once...which doesn't help my to do list get any smaller....LOL. I also have my Bunny Hop swap (hosted by Wendy @ Ravenwood Whimzies)to work on as well.

Well that's about all that's happening at Dulaney Woods I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy. Hugs,

Theresa
